Universum films welcomed to Maxdome

German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1’s VoD service Maxdome has signed up to distribute movies from Universum Film.

The deal will make several new titles, including The King’s Speech, available to online viewers alongside RTL-owned Universum’s extensive film and television library.

Maxdome offers subscribers in Germany more than 35,000 titles, including movies, TV series, sports programmes, music and cartoons.

This month, it closed a deal to carry shows from Austrian pubcaster ORF’s natural history strand, also called Universum.

ProSiebenSat.1 took full control of Maxdome in December after buying out German compatriot United Internet’s 50% stake.
